Virgin Money London Marathon

The London Marathon is undeniably the UK’s most popular and favourite marathon, so why not take on this amazing challenge by running for the Sir Simon Milton Foundation. You can join over 38,000 other runners on a truly remarkable journey through central London, from Blackheath to The Mall. With millions around the world cheering you on, this surely will be the run of a lifetime.

All the money raised will allow us to continue Sir Simon’s work through projects such as the new school we helped co-found, the Sir Simon Milton Westminster University Technical College, which opened its doors in September 2017, scholarships and bursaries that help fund young talented people from low income backgrounds whilst studying at university and Silver Sunday, our flagship older people’s programme.

Stories from our previous runners.

“My #ReasonToRun was because completing a marathon is such a huge challenge and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it!Kimberley Hopkins (2017)

“I ran the marathon as it was one of my personal goals I wanted to achieve before I'm 30 #ReasonToRun. Training was blister-filled” Rachel Hale (2017)

“I ran the marathon because my 11 year old beat me in last year's Westminster Mile and it was time to redress the balance in the Barker household!"#ReasonToRunRichard Barker (2017)

“I was running for Sir Simon Milton foundation and raised £2198. On the day itself I had jelly babies in my right pocket, music in my right ear, and the crowds and support of London in the left! High fiving 100s of hands and trading kisses with the Woods support crew, I was able to keep up a good pace! As I got into the 20s I pushed myself to keep going, telling myself "the faster I run the sooner it'll be over!". The results 03:59:01, getting sub 4hrs was an awesome reward and... Dare I say it... It was all over rather quickly in the end!! Thank you Tom Woods for making it possible, I had such an amazing day! I am soooooo delighted to be given the opportunity to runner for the Foundation again in next year’s run.” Karen Sayer (2016)

“London was the 9th marathon I have run in the last 9 months and perhaps I am biased but I have to say it was the most amazing marathon of them all. The support along every mile of the course was fantastic and at 18 miles when things were getting tough the cheers and jelly babies handed out by the crowd kept me going, achieving my fastest time to date. Thank you so much for the opportunity to run the London Marathon, the memories of this run will stay with me for many years to come.” Jason Crabtree (2016)
